Carrie's Bridal Shower

These cupcakes were done for a bridal shower for a very close childhood friend. She loves bright colors and the shower theme was daisies. Originally we planned to use sugar flowers, but I am so glad we used real flowers.

For anyone planning a shower or wedding, real flowers can be a gorgeous addition to your cake or cupcakes. A few things to keep in mind:
1. Make sure you pick a flower that is food safe. Not all flowers are ok for consumption.
2. This is the time to go organic. Let your florist know the flowers will be coming into contact with food.
3. You want a sturdy flower that can withstand some time without water. Hydrangeas are beautiful but wilt quickly once their water source is cut off. On the other hand gerber daisies and roses hold up well on cakes and cupcakes.
